Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HairTruth (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles your information when you use hair-truth.com and buy our digital guide.

1. Information we collect

• Email address, which you provide at checkout, so we can deliver the guide.
• Order details: your payment reference and order status from our payment gateway, and which page you bought from (the guide page or the hair check result), never your hair check answers or result.
• Technical logs: when we deliver the guide we record the time, delivery status, and browser (user-agent) to protect against abuse and keep records of delivery. During checkout we also record, against your order, whether the payment window opened, was closed, or reported a failed payment and the payment provider's reason, so we can find and fix checkout problems. This stays with us and is never shared with advertisers or anyone else.
• Advertising measurement data, collected by Meta's pixel unless you decline it. Section 6 explains exactly what this covers and how to opt out.

2. How we use your information

• To deliver the guide by email.
• To provide customer support and respond to your queries.
• To keep records of orders and email deliveries for our own accounting and security.

2a. The free hair check

If you choose to buy the guide from your hair check result, our payment provider's checkout loads on that page to take the payment; we pass it only your email address and our order reference, never your answers or result. The 60-second hair check at hair-truth.com/quiz runs entirely in your browser. Your answers and your result are not sent to us or stored anywhere; they disappear when you leave the page. Section 6 explains the only signal it shares with Meta: that a check was started or finished, never what was answered.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by a secure third-party payment gateway. Your card and banking details are handled directly by that gateway under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full payment details.

4. Service providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to run the service, including payment processing, secure file storage, and email delivery. They process your data only on our behalf, and only as needed to provide the service. Advertising measurement is provided by Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), described in section 6; Meta processes that data under its own privacy policy.

5. Data retention

We keep order and delivery records for as long as needed for accounting, legal, and support purposes. You may ask us to delete your personal data where we are not required to keep it.

6. Cookies and advertising measurement

The Site needs no cookies to function. Your choice about measurement is remembered in one small cookie (ht_consent, one year) so that we do not ask again and so that our server can honour it too.

We use one third-party measurement tool: the Meta pixel, operated by Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It tells us which of our Facebook and Instagram ads led to a visit or a purchase, so we can keep paying for the ads that work and stop the ones that do not.

What it records: the addresses of the pages you view (our page addresses never contain your email address or an order link), whether you started or finished the free hair check (never your answers or your result, and nothing at all when the result is to see a doctor), when you start checkout and when a purchase completes (including the price paid and our order number, never your card or bank details), your IP address and browser information, and a cookie identifier (_fbp, plus _fbc if you arrived from a Meta ad). When a purchase completes we also report it to Meta from our server, as the same event so that it is counted once, using the same cookie identifier, IP address and browser information. We do not send Meta your email address or phone number, and we switch off Meta's automatic form-field collection. Meta may link this data to your Facebook or Instagram account under the Meta Privacy Policy.

Your choice: a notice on your first visit lets you decline, and Cookie choices in the footer of every page lets you change your mind later. If you decline, the pixel is not loaded on any later page and its cookies are removed, and our server sends nothing about you to Meta either. You can also manage the ads you see from Meta in your Facebook ad preferences.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
